Japchae






*** Japchae ***

- Ingredients -

A
* 3/4 lb Korean starch noodles ( Dangmyon )
* 1/2 tsp Salt

B
* 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
* 1 slices Ginger
* 2 cloves Garlic, peeled and sliced
* 1/2 Onion, sliced vertically
* 1/2 Hot Pepper sliced diagonally ( optional )
* 1/2 Carrot, peeled and cut in thin diagonal slices
* 1 cup sliced Mushrooms
* 1/2 Green Pepper, cored , seeded and cut in thin strips
* 2 Green Onions, cut pieces 3 inches apart.
* 1/3 pound Meat ( shrimp or Beef etc. ), sliced thinly and cut 1.5 inches apart

* 7 Tbsp Soy Sauce
* 2.5 Tbsp Sugar
* 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
* 1 tsp Sesame Oil
* 2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

- Cooking Instructions -

1. Cook the noodles in 12 cups of boiling water & salt about 3 minutes.
2. Rinse in cold water, drain and cut noodles 4-6 inches apart.

1. Heat a large pan, add 2 Tbsp of olive oil.
2. Stir-fry and add the Ginger, Garlic, Onion, Hot Pepper, Meat, Carrot, Mushrooms, Green Pepper and Green Onions for 3 minutes.
3. Add 1 Tablespoon of Soy Sauce and stir-fry 1 minute.

F
In a Wide Mixing Bowl, add the D and E and C and mix all.

- Tips -

1. Use any kind of mushrooms & vegetables.
2. Generally most people use beef, spinach, and wood ear mushrooms.
3. If you would like to, you can mix in cooked shrimp at the end.
